Wow Week
A busy and joyful one. But hot.
It has been VERY hot here the last few days, with humidex figures hitting 45 degrees. That is 113 Fahrenheit for the old timey types. HOT. We are intensely grateful for our air conditioning. But hey that whole global warming thing is a hoax, right? And tornadoes are not as dangerous as they look, unless they actually find you.
Anyway we are shopping for a car. I sold my little red Ford Focus and it has been quite interesting. The Japanese Kei truck failed its safety inspection due to some serious issues, the most expensive being a bent rear axle. That is not repairable and a replacement would have to come all the way from Japan. But we went through all that last week. This week was Tesla week. Who know for sure how that will go. But wonderful surprises have dropped in our laps that indicate something big is afoot. There should be news on the Kei truck front by next week at any rate. Maybe this replacement will pass the safety.
Later this week I will be presenting a paper at the annual Whitehead conference in China. I will attend on line though so I can have my jet lag right here at home. It will be a new experience living ten hours ahead of the rest of my city and my province. It is good timing too since I am getting quite close to submitting my dissertation. This will be a chance to get some real feedback from philosophers who know Alfred North Whitehead much better than I do yet.
Exciting times.
And then it will be time for some holidays. I am trying to get ahead on my posts, especially the Sunday ones. If I vanish for a week, it may just be that I ran out of time to get everything up and posted in time. I hope all of my readers in this part of the world are able to get away during these summer months. It would be interesting to hear if I have readers in other parts of the world too! This is such an odd relationship we forge with the world of social media.
So this is a very light post today in the spirit of Summer Holidays. I will try harder to upset everyone next week! Blessings to all, and may we all be a blessing to each other.
